A civilian has been injured in the town of Alyoshki in the Kherson Region under shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported to TASS by the press secretary of the region's governor Vladimir Saldo Vladimir Vasilenko.

"On December 17 at 17:00 Moscow time in the town of Alyoshki on May 1 Street, a man born in 1952 was injured as a result of shelling of the residential sector," the agency quoted Vasilenko as saying.

The victim was hospitalized in a local hospital with a mine blast injury, a shrapnel wound to the head, and contusion, he added.

Earlier, on December 13, Kherson Region Governor Vladimir Saldo reported one dead and two injured residents in an AFU strike on a passenger bus at the entrance to Golaya Prystan. The attack was carried out by two enemy drones.

Ukrainian militants have been shelling the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions on a daily basis, as well as attempting to strike other Russian regions against the backdrop of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
