Nutritionist, nutritionist Roman Pristansky said on Tuesday, December 17, that it is necessary to distinguish between cocoa powder and instant cocoa (cocoa drink).

"Quick-soluble products have additional ingredients, such as powdered sugar. The more additives, the more sugar, and accordingly, it is easier to overdose your own carbohydrate allowance," the expert told Radio 1.

He emphasized that cocoa powder is a caloric product, and the addition of powdered sugar makes it even heavier and more caloric.

The expert added that cocoa is not recommended for people with individual intolerance to any additives, RT reports.

Earlier in the day it became known that exchange prices for cocoa beans broke a historical record. Now their cost is almost $12 thousand per ton, reports "Moscow 24".

The specialist explained that cocoa is also a source of antioxidants. They strengthen the protection of cells from the influence of free radicals, and also help to support the work of the brain, reports 360.ru.

Before that, on December 11, a joint survey of the delivery service "Cooper" and research company "OnIn" showed that the favorite drink of Russians in winter is hot tea. This was the answer of 68% of participants, reports NSN.

The second place in the list was taken by coffee, for which 60% of respondents gave their votes. And the third place went to mulled wine, cocoa and hot chocolate - they scored 36% each.

Vyacheslav Cheglovai, a professor of the basic department of trade policy of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, told the agency of city news "Moscow" that tea for a year in Russia has increased in price by at least 10%.
