Brazilian striker of Spanish soccer club Real Madrid Vinicius Junior became the best footballer of the year according to the International Football Federation (FIFA). This was reported on December 17 by the newspaper Diario AS.

The Best FIFA Football Awards 2024 ceremony was held earlier in the day in Qatar.
