A criminal case has been opened in Arkhangelsk over the poisoning of 20 children in a hospital

A mass poisoning of children in one of the children's hospitals in Arkhangelsk has been recorded. As reported on December 17 by the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation, after the accident a criminal case under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Performance of services that do not meet the requirements of safety for the health of consumers") was initiated.

It is noted that the agency received data from local media, where it was reported that an intestinal infection was detected in the medical center. To date, 20 patients have asked for the help of doctors.

"The investigative bodies of the IC of Russia for the Arkhangelsk region initiated a criminal case under article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Investigators are establishing the circumstances and causes of the incident," - stated on the website of the IC of the Russian Federation.

Head of the agency Alexander Bastrykin instructed to report on the progress of the investigation of the criminal case to him personally.

Earlier, November 20, it became known about the poisoning of schoolchildren in Kansk, Krasnoyarsk region. It was noted that most of the children were hospitalized in the infectious disease department. On this fact was initiated a criminal case on the provision of services that do not meet the requirements of safety of life and health of consumers. After, on November 22, "Izvestia" was informed in the Prosecutor's Office of Krasnoyarsk region that the cause of poisoning of children was salmonellosis. As a result, 51 people were affected.
