Russians told about popular New Year gifts

Study: the hit of gifts in the game "Secret Santa" recognized sweets

Almost every fifth Russian respondent (17%) has a tradition of organizing Secret Santa at work. At the same time, 22% shared that they do not know about the game, follows from the results of the research of the service "Work.ru" and payment service "Yukassa", which were read by "Izvestia" on December 18. Analysts found out what gifts are most often given by respondents.

Among those who have such a tradition in the office, 27% spend no more than 500 rubles for a gift to a colleague. From 501 to 1000 rubles are budgeted by 40%, from 1001 to 1500 rubles - 12%, and from 1501 to 2000 rubles - 8%, and 4% allocate a budget of more than 2000 rubles.

Sweets (43%) are recognized as the hit gifts. In second place are gift sets of tea, coffee and other drinks - 40%. They are followed by Christmas tree and New Year decorations (32%). The fourth position is occupied by perfumes and cosmetics (31%). Less common, but still popular were such goods as warm clothes (16%), sets for creativity (15%) and books (14%), showing the diversity of tastes and interests of colleagues.

At the same time, the majority of Russians start planning to participate in the game and buy gifts as early as the end of November, during the sales period.

"Black Friday days are perfect for preparation, as during this period you can buy suitable gifts at reasonable prices. For example, this year, Nov. 29-Dec. 1, the number of confectionery purchases increased 6% compared to the sale a year earlier, held Nov. 24-26, 2023. The turnover also increased by 42%, and the average check - by 33%, up to 4037 rubles," - said Irina Polyakova, head of the corporate customer support service of YuMoneu.

At the same time during "Black Friday" the number of book purchases increased by 35% compared to last year's sale, the turnover increased by 18%, and the average check decreased by 13%, to 182 rubles. The number of purchases of souvenirs, in turn, increased by 48%, turnover - by 18%, and the average check decreased by 20% to 2904 rubles.

In turn, the head of "Money transfers" in "UMopeu" Dmitry Volkov added that modern payment solutions have improved the organization of corporate holidays, organizers are increasingly using special tools for group purchases.

Earlier, on December 10, it was reported that souvenirs in the form of a snake are bought more willingly than products with a dragon a year earlier. This follows from the data available to "Izvestia" analytical center "Check Index" of the company "Platform OFD". The average check for souvenirs in the form of a snake amounted to 483 rubles, the analysts calculated. The number of purchases is higher by 11% compared to souvenirs in the form of a dragon - the symbol of 2024. The most popular souvenirs were figurines, magnets, key chains.
