Ka-52M crews disrupted the rotation of AFU units in the Kursk Oblast border region

Army aviation crews on Ka-52M helicopters as part of a mixed tactical group disrupted the rotation of Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) units in the border area of Kursk Region. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on December 17.
It is reported that while carrying out a combat mission to support ground troops, the pilots of the army aviation fired missiles at armored vehicles and personnel of the AFU, while safely destroying the enemy.
After the strike, the Ka-52M crews began performing anti-missile maneuvering with the firing of heat traps to prevent enemy man-portable air defense system (MANPADS) missiles from hitting them. The forward air gunner confirmed the destruction of the target.
Earlier, on December 16, it became known that artillerymen successfully eliminated armored vehicles and strongholds of the Ukrainian army, preventing the rotation of militants in the Krasnoarmeysk direction. Artillerymen work in tandem with calculations of drones, which help to correct the work on the target from the air.
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
