St. Petersburg has refused fireworks on New Year's Eve


No fireworks will be set off in St. Petersburg on New Year's Eve. The organizers of events have not included them in their holiday programs. This was reported to journalists by the head of the city committee on culture Fedor Boltin.
According to him, cited by TV channel "78", taking into account the experience of recent years, the city residents have not raised this issue.
In this regard, the channel recalls the appeal of the "Veterans of Russia" to the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin with a request to ban the sale of pyrotechnic products in border zones and regions where SWO. They also insisted on imposing restrictions on the sale of pyrotechnics in central Russia and a ban on the use of fireworks during New Year holidays.
According to the authors of the appeal, the mass use of pyrotechnics can have serious consequences. Visual and sound effects may be perceived by residents as signs of emergency or air raid.
Earlier, on December 6, the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin said that there are no plans to launch New Year's fireworks in the capital this year.
Before that, on November 28, the first deputy chairman of the faction "Fair Russia" Dmitry Gusev appealed to the heads of all regions with a proposal to refuse fireworks during the New Year's Eve, and the saved money should be used to help the participants of the emergency situations and their families.
