160 billion rubles will be allocated for the development of a single platform for cars

It is planned to allocate 160 billion rubles in the next five years for the development of a single modular platform for automobiles. This was stated by Tigran Parsadanyan, Director of the Department of Automotive Industry and Railway Engineering of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, TASS reported on December 17.

At the same time, it was reported earlier in November that the draft state budget for the next three years includes 87.8 billion rubles for the development of its own modular platform for cars.

State subsidies will be received by the Ministry of Industry and Trade's institute FSUE NAMI, which will be the main developer of such a platform. AvtoVAZ, GAZ and KamAZ will also be involved. It is planned to emphasize the creation of a platform for cars of classes C, D and E.

As Alexei Matushansky, Director of the Department of Strategic Development and Corporate Policy of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said earlier, it is planned that the modular platform will be designed for a variety of cars - both for golf-class cars and middle and business-class cars.

Fyodor Nazarov, Director General of NAMI Federal State Unitary Enterprise, reported that the pre-project activities for the creation of a unified modular platform began in 2024, and not only car plants, but also major developers of automotive components have expressed their desire to participate in the project. The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov said that on the basis of the domestic single modular platform it is planned to produce not only cars with internal combustion engines, but also hybrids and electric cars.

On November 21, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov reported that the Russian authorities plan to create mini-consortiums between the players of the Russian automotive industry and co-finance their costs for the development of a domestic automobile platform, and the funds for it will be used, including from the recycling fee.
