Officials from the administration of incumbent US leader Joe Biden have started fighting for posts ahead of the inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump. This was reported by the American newspaper Politico on December 16.

The material notes the tense situation on the labor market in Washington among national security officers after the election of Trump as President. Many employees of the Biden administration fear dismissal and are actively looking for a new job. This phenomenon is partly explained by Trump's promises to reduce the staff of employees in the Pentagon, the State Department and other agencies, emphasized the publication.

"Everyone is ready to get demoted because there are not enough jobs," said a US congressional representative.

The publication writes that among the employees of the current White House administration, the most in demand are positions in congressional committees, as well as individual Democrats dealing with defense and foreign policy, noted "Gazeta.Ru"

Earlier, on December 10, Donald Trump proposed the candidacy of Andrew Ferguson for the post of head of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. The publication Politico reported that Ferguson could take the role of Chairman immediately after Trump's inauguration, as he is already a member of the trade Commission,

Prior to that, on Dec. 9, the U.S. president-elect said that former U.S. ambassador to Mexico Christopher Landau could get the position of the first deputy secretary of state. Trump added that Landau, as U.S. ambassador to Mexico, worked to reduce illegal migration, bringing it down to the lowest level in history.

At the same time, Trump said he would appoint Michael Anton to head the State Department's political planning division. It is noted that in the first presidential term of Trump, he was actually the president's strategic communications adviser.

Before that, on December 6, it became known that Trump appointed an investor, former Director of the financial company PayPal David Sachs responsible for the policy of the US administration in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and cryptocurrencies. The president-elect noted that Sachs will focus on ensuring US leadership in both areas.

The election for the 47th president of the United States took place on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Later, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world.
