The third tanker in the Volgoneft series moved to another berth

The tanker "Volgoneft-109" - the third of the "Volgoneft" series - has moved to another anchorage, no fuel oil leakage has been allowed. This was reported to "Izvestia" on December 17 in Rosmorrechflot.

"The hull of the vessel is not damaged, there is no leakage. The crew is safe. Accompanied by the rescue vessel Morspassluzhba Mercury, the vessel moved to another place of anchorage," the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport said in a statement.

Earlier in the day, media reported that a tanker loaded with fuel oil gave a distress signal near the port of Kavkaz in the Black Sea.

Tankers Volgoneft-212 andVolgoneft-239crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15. Strong squally winds and sea waves up to 7 points were observed in that area. In the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol reported that more than 50 people and 11 units of equipment were involved in the elimination of the accident.

Later in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia specified that the "Volgoneft-212" ran aground. 13 people were evacuated from the vessel. It was reported that two of them remain in a state of moderate severity, another person died. Two criminal cases were opened over the incident, one of which was reclassified to a more serious composition. "Volgoneft-239" ran aground near the port of Taman in the Krasnodar region. All 14 crew members were evacuated from it.

Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Alexander Kozlov said that it is too early to say how much oil products have fallen into the sea after their partial leakage from the damaged tankers. Part of the fuel oil remains inside the vessels, and due to temperature conditions the fuel is on the sea bottom. Divers will examine the tankers and give their conclusion on the leakage substrate.

Later, on December 17, in two municipalities of the Krasnodar region introduced an emergency regime because of the fuel oil spill. Volunteers went out to collect fuel on the territory of the beach in the village of Blagoveshchenskoye.
