Yakutia will improve the hunting management culture

The Head of Yakutia Aysen Nikolaev has approved the Concept of development of hunting economy in the republic until 2035. This was reported by the press service of the regional government on Tuesday, December 17.

The document is designed for a balanced solution of tasks in the sphere of hunting and conservation of hunting resources, to provide a perspective for the development of hunting economy, its modernization and efficiency improvement.

As explained in the regional Ministry of Ecology, as a result of the program implementation it is planned to form a regulatory and legal framework, preserve traditional types of hunting and increase its culture. It is also envisaged to increase the number of hunting species of animals and reduce their illegal extraction.

According to YakutiaMedia IA, the area of hunting grounds of the Sakha Republic is 62.6% of the region's area. The territory is inhabited by 89 species of game animals and birds.

Earlier "Izvestia" wrote that public activists ask the Ministry of Natural Resources to revise the rules of hunting for musk deer - a deer-like ungulate with tusks. The number of the animal is decreasing due to the activities of poachers. The musk deer is hunted for its musk gland, which is also valuable for illegal export.
