Senators and deputies have prepared a bill on the issue of handling construction waste, now the document should be finalized. This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev on December 17.

"The current legislation does not regulate the issue of handling construction waste. The bill has been prepared by senators and deputies. Undoubtedly, given the scale of construction, which is currently underway across the country, this is a very important area," he said at a meeting of the Council of Legislators of the Russian Federation at the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the work on the document "should definitely be finalized."

Patrushev emphasized that serious work has been carried out over the past few years in terms of regulatory and legal support in the sphere of waste management. According to him, 88 legal acts have been approved in four years.

Deputy Prime Minister added that at the moment 19 priority normative legal acts are under consideration. Among them - a bill that proposes to refer compensation to utilization, a law on the permissible axle load of garbage trucks, as well as a bill on imposing the obligation on rego-operators to create and maintain container sites.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Environmental Operator (REO) reported that 55 regions have begun the fight against spontaneous dumps. Thus, they began to weigh garbage trucks after they picked up waste at container sites. According to REO, this measure will help to avoid the appearance of spontaneous dumps, when garbage trucks instead of sorting dump waste in inappropriate places, as well as incorrect calculation of the mass of waste generated
