Degtyarev presented awards to the winners of the "The Most Athletic Family of Russia" contest

Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev presented awards to the winners of the first all-Russian online contest "Russia's Most Sporty Family".

"Each of the families is a story of perseverance, love for sports. And for that I want to say thank you," he said at the award ceremony.

According to Degtyarev, thanks to such families, the culture of a healthy lifestyle is being formed and becoming the norm in Russian society.

The Minister expressed the opinion that initiatives from above cannot be as effective as the contagious power of personal example. He wished the winners faith, hope and love, noting that love for Russia and sports unites.

The winners of the contest "The Most Sporty Family of Russia" were residents of the Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow, Lipetsk regions and the Perm Territory. Thus, the Suvorov family from Samara won in the nomination "Active Participants", and the Gasinykh family from Usolye (Perm Territory) won in the nomination "Family Team".

In addition, two families from the Nizhny Novgorod Region - the Korpus family from Bogorodsk (nomination "TRP Sports Family") and the Smirnov family from Ureni (nomination "Sports Champions") - won at once.

In turn, the Galanov-Chaychenko family from Kolomna (Moscow Region) won in the Sports Dynasty nomination, and the Balovnev family from Lipetsk took first place in the Sports Tradition nomination.

The contest is organized by the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation within the framework of the federal project "Sport is a norm of life". Families from all regions of Russia can participate, regardless of the level of physical fitness. The organizing committee received about 900 applications and named the winners on December 13.

In October, Degtyarev said that by 2030 the share of Russians who are constantly engaged in sports may exceed 70% of the country's population. According to his estimation, such an indicator can be realistically achieved by joint efforts of regions, the Russian government and sports federations. He named Russian coaches, athletes and infrastructure as the ingredients of success.
