The Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) has issued a type certificate for aviation containers and pallets developed by Avia-profit, said Artur Arutyunov, an expert of the Aviation and Space sector of the Aluminum Association. To date, four types of containers and five types of pallets developed by the company have been certified.

Aviation containers and pallets are designed for transportation of cargo and luggage and, according to the current rules, belong to aviation equipment, the operation of which is prohibited without certification or regulatory approval. Such equipment is made of aluminum due to its lightness and strength. Regulator certification confirms the safety of the equipment for use in civil aviation and enables the manufacturer to supply it to airlines.

The development and certification tests were carried out by Avia-profit with the support of the Aluminum Association. This is the first time that an international regulator has issued a certificate for Russian-made aviation bagging equipment. According to Arutyunov, the IAC has specially developed a certification basis, on the basis of which a program and methodology of
for testing this equipment.

Previously, domestic airlines imported containers and pallets mainly from Norway, the Netherlands, Germany and China. In 2022, European suppliers left the Russian market, China turned out to be the only supplier of this equipment. At the same time, thanks to design features and optimization of technological processes, the Russian developer managed to achieve a competitive price compared to suppliers from China. According to the expert, the annual demand of Russian airlines for new containers and pallets is 650-800 units.
