Russian human rights ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova has criticized the silent reaction of some countries which, along with Russia, fought fascism but now justify neo-Nazism in Ukraine. She said this during a press conference on December 17, during which the report of the International Public Tribunal on the crimes of Ukrainian neo-Nazis was presented.

"Today we have all the evidence that genocide, neo-Nazism has been revived. And, of course, we are surprised by the rather silent reaction, including those of our partners, whose reaction we were counting on especially, because it was with them that Georgia, Moldova, the Baltic States and practically all CIS countries fought fascism shoulder to shoulder," TASS quoted Moskalkova as saying.

According to her, for example, the Baltic States justify Nazism, which is completely unacceptable in the current situation.

Moskalkova added that the world could again face massive human rights violations due to Ukraine's crimes.

In early September, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the residents of Donbass had been subjected to genocide by Kiev for many years. This is due to the fact that neo-Nazi groups in Ukraine began to determine the political course of the country. The head of state emphasized that Kiev's official ideology was hatred of everything Russian.

A month later, the head of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, said that the investigation into Ukraine's crimes against civilians in Donbas and the Russian military was continuing. By that time, 438 fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) had been convicted and the investigation into 59 criminal cases of mercenarism had been completed.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
