In two municipalities of Krasnodar region after the spillage of oil products as a result of an accident with tankers, an emergency situation regime (ES) has been introduced. This was announced by the Minister of Civil Defense and Emergency Situations of the region Sergey Shtrikov on December 17.

"Volunteers, special services [now] collect fuel oil on the territory of the beach in the settlement of Blagoveshchenskoye. The territory was polluted from the side of the Temryuksky district and Anapa municipal formation. An emergency regime has been introduced on the territory of two municipalities of these districts," the head of the agency told Rossiya 24 TV channel.

A day earlier, the Governor of Krasnodar region Veniamin Kondratiev said that in four settlements of the Kuban after the spillage of oil products introduced a state of high alert. At the same time, the head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, said that no pollution had been detected after the oil spill on the Black Sea coast. On December 17, Kondratiev added that oil products after the accident with tankers in Kuban were carried to the shore for dozens of kilometers.

Tankers Volgoneft-212 andVolgoneft-239crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15. There were strong squally winds and sea excitement up to 7 points in that area. In the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol reported that more than 50 people and 11 units of equipment are involved in the elimination of the accident.

Later in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia specified that the "Volgoneft-212" ran aground. 13 people were evacuated from the vessel. It was reported that two of them remain in a state of moderate severity, another person died. Two criminal cases were opened over the incident, one of which was reclassified to a more serious composition. "Volgoneft-239" ran aground near the port of Taman in the Krasnodar region. All 14 crew members were evacuated from it.

As the Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation Alexander Kozlov noted, it is too early to say how much oil products got into the sea. Part of the fuel oil remains in the tankers, which are on the seabed, and due to temperature conditions the fuel oil remains on the bottom. Divers will examine the remains of the vessels and then give their conclusion.
