In Russia, the number of issued car loans decreased in November


The number of issued car loans for new and used cars in November 2024 fell by 30.4% in comparison with October, while for two months the issuance decreased by more than half (minus 51.3% relative to September). This was reported by the National Bureau of Credit Histories (NBKI) on December 17.
A total of 82.9 thousand car loans were issued in November. Compared to November last year, the figure decreased by 15.4%. The volume of issued auto loans decreased by 33.5% (to Br110.1 billion) compared to the previous month. Over the past two months, the indicator has decreased by 54.8%, while compared to the same period last year - by 24.7%.
The most auto loans among the country's regions in November were issued in Moscow, Tatarstan, Moscow Region, Krasnodar Krai and St. Petersburg.
The strongest reduction in the issuance of car loans in the regions was in the Novosibirsk region (-40.3%), Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (-35.2%), Perm Krai (-34.9%), as well as in the Sverdlovsk region (-34.8%) and Volgograd region (-34.8%). In Moscow and St. Petersburg over the month, the issuance fell by 32.2% and 29.3%, respectively.
December 4, the head of AvtoVAZ Maxim Sokolov said that the increase in the key rate and tightening of lending standards made car loans for Russians almost unaffordable.
November 28, it was reported that for 10 months of 2024 in Russia was issued auto loans worth Br2.02 trillion, which is 79.8% more than in the same period last year. In January-October, 1.4 million car loans were issued in Russia, year-on-year growth amounted to 75.7%.
