Auto expert named the disadvantages of self-polishing the car

Most often when polishing a car with their own hands on the body there are clearly visible "divorces", in the worst case there is a risk of removing too large a layer of varnish or "sawing" it off entirely. This was told by Alexander Smith, the owner of a network of detailing centers Carbase, reports "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" on December 17.
According to the specialist, high-quality body polishing requires professional knowledge and practice, and it is impossible to make a quality polishing with your own hands using guides from the Internet.
"Each car needs an individual approach because of the differences in the thickness of the paintwork layer (LKP) and the materials used in production. The color of the car is not so important, and the "origin" of the car is key. For example, for Japanese cars use low-abrasive pastes, and for the German car industry, on the contrary, highly abrasive. Ignorance of these peculiarities is a direct way to damage the paintwork of the car," Smith warned.
For professional use a lot of tools: two types of machines (rotary and eccentric), polishing paste of different grits, as well as fur or foam polishing wheels. It is not easy to find professional tools and consumables on the market now, said the expert.
December 11, auto expert Andrei Egarmin explained that the installation of cardboard in front of the engine cooling radiators can lead to serious consequences. Due to the restriction of air flow, there is a risk of engine overheating, which can lead to engine damage, deformation of the cylinder head and other critical malfunctions.
December 5, auto expert Dmitry Babaev said that one of the most common problems of car owners in winter is a frozen windshield. If electric heating of the glass is not provided, you can use folk and professional methods to fight frost and ice.
