The Supreme Court of Kabardino-Balkaria recognized the crimes of fascists as genocide

The crimes of Nazi invaders, which were committed on the territory of Kabardino-Balkaria during the Great Patriotic War, have been recognized as genocide of the peoples of the USSR. This was reported in the Supreme Court of the republic on December 17.

"The Supreme Court of Kabardino-Balkaria <...> decided to recognize the established and newly discovered crimes committed during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 on the territory of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic by Nazi occupation troops and their accomplices, <...> war crimes, crimes against humanity," the judge said.

The court also noted that only on the territory of the republic as a result of the actions of the fascists suffered at least 2,188 people from among the civilian population.

Earlier, on November 18, the Supreme Court of Kabardino-Balkaria began to study the written evidence in the case on the recognition of the genocide of the peoples of the USSR crimes of the Nazi invaders in the region during the Great Patriotic War. It is specified that the court was presented exhaustive evidence of mass executions, torture, torture of civilians and prisoners of war, as well as widespread plunder and destruction of material and cultural values.

Before that, on September 26, the court recognized the Nazi crimes committed in the Adygea Autonomous Region (AR) during the Great Patriotic War (WWII) as genocide of the Soviet people. During the occupation of the region, the civilian population was tortured, people were deprived of the opportunity to evacuate and starved. Those hiding in the forests with livestock and those suspected of being partisans were shot. Children, among others, became victims of violent actions.

On September 12, the court in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) started to consider the case of establishing the fact of genocide of the peoples of the USSR on the territory of the Stalin region. According to Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov, more than 252,000 citizens were forcibly removed from the territory of the region to Germany. It is also said about the extermination of 323 thousand civilians and prisoners of war.
