- Russia announced the selection of candidates to participate in the oncovaccine study

The selection of candidates for participation in clinical trials of oncovaccine being developed in Russia has begun. This was announced on December 17 by Andrei Kaprin, chief freelance oncologist of the Ministry of Health.
"I am pleased to announce the start of prescreening aimed at selecting patients to participate in the first phase of clinical trials of the oncolytic vaccine EnteroMix," he wrote in his Telegram channel.
The doctor said that men and women between the ages of 18 and 75 with a histologically confirmed diagnosis can participate in the study.
Only people diagnosed with a solid inoperable tumor, for whom standard treatment options are no longer possible, will be allowed to participate, Kaprin stressed.
On the eve, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said that there is a request for Russian oncovaccine from other countries. He added that next year Russia will start using the vaccines in clinical units.
Earlier, on December 14, Kaprin said that the cancer vaccine will be free for all Russian citizens. In addition, he noted that oncovaccine has shown high efficiency in preclinical trials.
Before that, on November 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the introduction of a cancer vaccine a breakthrough. At the meeting with the Russian leader, the head of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA), Veronika Skvortsova, told him about the agency's innovative developments in the field of biotechnology, including oncovaccines.
