Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, head of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Forces of the Russian Armed Forces, has been systematically exposing the West's crimes for many years. This was stated by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on December 17, commenting on the death of the serviceman.

"Igor Kirillov for many years systematically, with facts on his hands exposed the crimes of the Anglo-Saxons: NATO provocations with chemical weapons in Syria, Britain's manipulation of banned chemical substances and provocations in Salisbury and Amesbury, deadly activities of American biolaboratories in Ukraine and much more," she wrote in Telegram-channel.

The diplomat noted that the serviceman worked fearlessly and never hid behind the backs of others. He fought for the Motherland and for the truth, Zakharova concluded.

The death of Igor Kirillov and his assistant became known earlier in the day. The men were killed as a result of detonation of an explosive device planted in a scooter standing near the entrance. The explosion occurred near a seven-story apartment building on Ryazansky Avenue in Moscow. A criminal case has been opened over the incident.

At the disposal of "Izvestia" received footage, which shows that the scene is cordoned off. Law enforcement officials are clarifying all the circumstances. In the near future, a number of examinations will be appointed, including medical and explosion-technical.
