On the eve of the New Year, volunteers together with the Moscow Government handed over sweet gifts for children of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). The humanitarian action was made possible as part of the "Moscow Helps" project, which is being held for the third year in a row.

"I would like to say a huge thank you to our colleagues, the Moscow City Government, personally the Mayor of Moscow Sergey Semenovich Sobyanin for this kind of help, for helping our children to feel warmth and care in such a difficult time. They show that Moscow is not somewhere far away, a thousand kilometers away, it is here, near. They help, support, think about us and never forget," said Konstantin Komlyonok, First Deputy Minister of Youth Policy of the DNR.

Also within the framework of the action, the capital's volunteers together with regional volunteers visit rehabilitation centers, orphanages, kindergartens and schools.

"We were traveling on great enthusiasm, we really wanted to meet already with children, with people who live on your territory. We were told that in many children's centers children prepare matinees for us, and this is so important for us. To feel the love and care and give it to children who are so far away from us," said Artem Arsenikhin, a volunteer from Moscow.

Donetsk regional headquarters of #WYWMESTE together with other volunteers of youth organizations received the humanitarian cargo. Soon there will be a distribution of sweets. It is reported that first of all gifts will be given to children who live in social centers, undergo treatment in medical institutions, children with disabilities, large families and children of soldiers.

Earlier, on December 16, the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin announced the transfer of the first batch of New Year sweets to children from new regions of Russia. According to him, volunteers handed out 30 thousand gifts to children in hospitals, orphanages, rehabilitation centers. Volunteers also visited kindergartens, schools, children with disabilities, large families and military families.
