Air defense forces destroyed one Ukrainian UAV over Belgorod Region overnight

The air defense forces have destroyed one Ukrainian drone over the territory of Belgorod Region overnight. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 17.

"The Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle was destroyed over the territory of the Belgorod region by the on-duty air defense means," the ministry said.

It is specified that the attack was carried out by an airplane-type drone.

Earlier, on December 16, the governor of Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, reported about two eliminated drones in the sky above the region. As Bogomaz noted, there were no damages or casualties as a result of the attempted attack. Operational services are working at the scene.

The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
