Head of the Russian Interior Ministry Vladimir Kolokoltsev took part in the all-Russian charity event "Christmas Tree of Wishes" and helped fulfill the dreams of a brother and sister from Belgorod Region.
Thus, the minister took down from the New Year's tree a paper ball in which the dream of five-year-old Veronika Polyakova from the border town of Shebekino, Belgorod Region, and her eight-year-old brother Dima was written.
The girl loves traveling and dreamed of an interactive globe, while the boy asked Santa Claus for all of Alexander Volkov's books from the Wizard of Emerald City series.
Kolokoltsev handed over the gifts to the Belgorod region and instructed the acting head of the UMVD of Russia in the region, Police Colonel Alexander Korobeinikov, to hand them over.
"Dear guys, your New Year's wishes were gladly fulfilled by the chief policeman of our country, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Vladimir Aleksandrovich Kolokoltsev," Korobeinikov said.
Also, the head of the UMVD gave the children sweets, and their mother - a bouquet of flowers.
Earlier, on December 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the action "Christmas tree of wishes" and read the wishes of children. Their fulfillment the head of state will traditionally take upon himself.
Charity action "Christmas Tree of Wishes" is a project of the Russian "Movement of the First" with the support of Rosmolodezh, which has been held since 2018 and lasts from mid-November to the end of February.
