The U.S. Central Command of the U.S. Armed Forces (CENTCOM) said that an airstrike was carried out on the building of the Ministry of Defense of the Houthis in the city of Sanaa. On December 16, the command's press service reported this on the social network X (former Twitter).

"U.S. Central Command forces conducted a precision airstrike on a key command and control facility run by Iranian-backed Houthis in the Houthi-controlled territory in Sanaa," the message reads.

It is specified that the facility hit by the airstrike was the center of coordination of operations of the Houthis. From there they managed attacks on U.S. military and merchant ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

Earlier on Nov. 11, it was reported that the U.S. and Britain had launched at least nine strikes on Yemeni Houthi Houthi facilities. US and UK aircraft carried out at least seven strikes on the Harf Sufyan neighborhood in Amran province in western Yemen.

Earlier, on October 23, Al Masirah reported US and UK airstrikes on an airport in Yemen. There was no information about casualties.

The Houthis began striking ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden since November last year in protest against Israeli actions in the Gaza Strip. On the night of Jan. 12, in response to their actions, the U.S. and Britain launched an attack on Houthi targets in Yemen. The White House said the strikes on movement-controlled areas of the country were defensive in nature. It was also claimed at the time that the strikes were carried out to protect international vessels.
