Marines destroyed AFU strongholds and fighters in the Kursk Oblast border region

Marine infantry units of the "North" group of forces have destroyed strongholds and an accumulation of militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the border area of Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 17.

In order to reduce the time of roll-up and defeat the positions of the AFU, fighters of 120-millimeter mortar calculations created a network of concealed combat points. After receiving a new target from reconnaissance, the mortars take up positions in a few minutes, calculate the initial data for firing and fulfill the assigned task.

"The command "Combat readiness once" came, and our groups began to storm the strongholds. Our calculation covered at the offensive of the assault groups. Destroyed strongholds, machine gun crews, infantry, enemy manpower and did not allow to make a rotation across the river. We destroyed a Polish mortar, an ammunition supply, a pickup truck," said the platoon commander with the call sign Volga.

The work is continuous, and the targets vary from entire strongholds to armored vehicles. The relentless attacks are aimed at keeping the AFU fighters energized. Often the artillerymen also need to conduct counter-battery warfare to destroy mortar and gun crews of Ukrainian units.

"The fire was very dense, there was very little time. And we had to cook and shoot. We slept very little and constantly inflicted fire damage on the enemy. The enemy was rolling back, we massively hit the infantry manpower. The calculations worked quickly, harmoniously," - said Volga.

Earlier, on December 16, it became known that the servicemen of the group of troops "North" destroyed the AFU combat vehicle in Kursk region. It is noted that the technique was eliminated with the help of a kamikaze drone in the settlement of Daryino.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The operation to destroy the militants continues.
