The Russian Defense Ministry reported on the feats of Russian fighters in the NWO zone

On 16 December, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the exploits of the Russian Armed Forces (AFU) fighters in the zone of the special military operation (SMO).

As the ministry pointed out, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) concentrated armored combat vehicles and a significant number of infantry assault groups preparing to go on the offensive in one of the important tactical directions. In this connection, a decision was taken to launch an artillery strike against the enemy's combat orders.

Having organized the camouflage of the observation post, Private Danil Sharepa competently determined the aiming points, timely transmitted the coordinates, after which he corrected the artillery fire and exercised control over the infliction of fire damage to the enemy. As a result of the strike of the RF Armed Forces, the majority of the enemy's forces were destroyed, which led to his retreat

Sharepa's competent actions contributed to the defeat of Ukrainian militants at a distance from the line of contact.

The Defense Ministry also noted the merits of Staff Sergeant Maxim Strelkin, who as part of an assault group led offensive operations against AFU positions.

During the offensive the group came under artillery fire. Seeing that some of his comrades were severely wounded and unable to get out of the zone of enemy artillery, Strelkin personally, despite the ongoing shelling and attacks of enemy FPV-drones, provided first aid to the injured soldiers right on the battlefield, after which he carried them to safety.

Thanks to Strelkin's courageous and decisive actions, the lives of Russian servicemen were saved.

Earlier, on December 16, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the 203-millimeter self-propelled artillery unit 2S7M Malka of the Center group of troops had successfully eliminated armored vehicles and a Ukrainian army stronghold, preventing the rotation of militants in the Krasnoarmeysk direction.

It also became known that the Russian army liberated Elizavetovka in the DNR. It was specified that in total in this direction the militants lost up to 345 people, five vehicles, two armored combat vehicles MaxxPro, 155-millimeter self-propelled artillery installation Paladin.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made in connection with the aggravation of the situation in the region.
