US President-elect Donald Trump said on Monday, December 16, that he considers the decision of incumbent US leader Joe Biden to allow Ukraine to launch missile strikes deep into Russian territories a bad one.

"I don't think it should have been allowed to launch missiles deep into Russia. I think it was a bad idea and it had many negative consequences," Trump said, speaking at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

The Republican said it was a foolish decision made weeks before he took office. He added that he may reconsider it after the inauguration.

On December 13, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that the position of Donald Trump, who won the US presidential election, on the danger of strikes by US long-range ATACMS missiles deep into Russian territories fully coincides with the position of the Russian Federation.

Earlier, on December 12, the press bureau of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) said in a statement that NATO was very concerned about Russia's statements about the direct involvement of the United States, Britain and France in strikes by Western long-range weapons deep inside Russia, realizing that it would be impossible to hide it.

Before that, on December 6, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the West hears Russia's statements about the situation in Ukraine and sees that it is not in their favor. They are witnessing the collapse of their dreams of inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia, the diplomat said.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
