Putin declared Russia's interest in successful businesses

Russia needs successful business because the success of the country's economy depends on it, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting in the Kremlin with representatives of business circles on December 16.

"I want to congratulate you on the results. They are there, it is very important, and not only for your teams, for your companies. It is important for the whole country, for the whole economy, for those people who work at your companies, and that is the whole country. That is why Russia is interested in your success. Ultimately behind this success is the success of the entire economy of the country," the head of state said.

Putin noted that the Russian government works with business on a regular basis and invited the participants of the meeting to exchange opinions in free mode. All the ideas and suggestions voiced will try to take into account in practical work, the President added.

Earlier, on December 4, Putin said that Russia is among the world leaders in the quality of business climate. The Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) conducted a comparative assessment with other countries this year. The study took into account more than 800 criteria.

In November, it became known that the number of people working in the sphere of small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) in Russia has increased one and a half times. According to the Ministry of Economic Development, in 2023 it reached 31.45 million people, the main growth was due to the self-employed. As the SME Corporation pointed out in the same month, the areas with the maximum share of new SMEs in 2024 are postal communications and courier services, recruitment and IT.
