According to the survey, the level of Ukrainians' sympathy for Poles has fallen compared to 2022. The results of the survey were cited by the Ukrayinska Pravda news and analysis website on 16 December.

The results of the survey showed that in 2024, 41% of Ukrainian respondents had a good attitude to Poland and Poles, although in 2022 this figure reached 83%.

As part of the survey, residents of Ukraine were asked how they feel about Poles, and 4% of respondents answered "excellent", 37% - "good", 53% - "neutral", 1% - "very bad". Another 1% found it difficult to answer.

The publication recalls that in 2022 these indicators were as follows: 46% - "very good", 37% - "good", 15% - "neutral", 2% were undecided, and no one chose the option "bad" or "very bad".

According to the survey organizers, such results were caused by Polish farmers' protests against Ukrainian agricultural products.

The survey was conducted by order of the Mieroszewski Center from November 1 to November 11, 2024, 1008 Ukrainians participated in it.

Earlier, on June 4, protesting Polish farmers blocked the Rawa-Russkaya-Grebennoye checkpoint on the border with Ukraine, blocking the passage of trucks. The protest action ended on June 7.

Before that, on May 13, the farmers went on hunger strike in the building of the Polish parliament until they were allowed to meet with Prime Minister Donald Tusk. In addition, a month-long blockade of checkpoints on the border between Poland and Ukraine ended on April 29, but farmers continued to prevent trucks carrying Ukrainian grain.

Polish agrarians are dissatisfied with rising fuel and fertilizer prices, foreign competition and new environmental regulations of the European Union. Thus, on March 19, Poland and France called for restrictions on Ukrainian exports of agricultural products, including grain, to European countries. Protests took place in many EU countries.

In 2022, the European Union allowed Kiev to supply food to the alliance countries duty-free, which hit farmers in Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and some other countries. These countries unilaterally imposed an embargo on grain supplies from Ukraine to their domestic markets.
