In the fall of 2024, among the cars of European brands with used cars on the Russian market, Volkswagen is in demand: the German brand accounts for 4.66% of the demand. This was reported to "Izvestia" on December 17 by the experts of "Avito Auto".

In second place after Volkswagen is Mercedes-Benz with a share of 4.21%, and closes the top three is BMW (3.62%). Renault (2.78%) and Opel (1.92%) are also in the top five most demanded brands.

In the ranking of models, the first place in demand was taken by Volkswagen Polo with a share of 1.16% of all cars with mileage on the platform, the average price of the model amounted to Br970 thousand. Next are Mercedes-Benz E-Class (Br1.99 million), BMW 5 Series (Br2.15 million), Renault Logan (Br470 thousand) and Volkswagen Passat (Br690 thousand).

By the number of ads in the fall of 2024, Volkswagen Polo was also the leader among European models, followed by Skoda Octavia and Renault Logan. According to the platform, compared with the summer of this year, the demand for cars of European brands with mileage in September-November 2024 increased by 6.1%, while the supply - by 6%. The average price of such a car amounted to 1.25 million rubles.

"We see buyer interest in European cars with mileage in both premium and mass segments. For example, the BMW X5 showed a record growth in demand compared to the summer of 2024 among the top 10 models - by almost 16% with a 3% decrease in the average price. In the mass segment, Volkswagen Polo demonstrates similar dynamics: demand for the same period increased by more than 5%, while the price also decreased by almost 3%. Interest in these cars indicates, among other things, that buyers prefer time-tested European models, given the price/quality ratio," - said the director of the direction "Cars with Used Cars" in "Avito" Andrei Kovalev.
