Britain called the Russian Armed Forces' destruction of four Patriot VSU a strong blow to Kiev

The destruction of four Patriot air defense systems by the Russian Armed Forces (AF) was a crushing blow to the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU). British analyst Alexander Mercouris said on December 15.

"It was a devastating blow that once again demonstrated the air superiority of the Russians," he said in a blog on his YouTube channel.

The analyst noted the losses of the Ukrainian army and the ineffectiveness of their counterattacks. He also drew attention to the Russian army's destruction of the Ukrainian energy system and air defense systems.

Mercouris added that the West should see the seriousness of Russian President Vladimir Putin's statements.

On the eve, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the Russian Armed Forces destroyed a combat control vehicle, four U.S. launchers of the Patriot surface-to-air missile system (SAM) and an associated AN/MPQ-65 radar station.

Prior to that, on December 13, the Russian military launched a massive strike on Ukrainian energy facilities. After the blasts, emergency blackouts began across the country and Kiev requested electricity imports from five neighboring countries.
