The Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) has passed a sentence in a criminal case of espionage (Article 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) against 24-year-old Ukrainian citizen Roman Tupalo. According to the DNR Prosecutor's Office on December 16, the man will have to spend the next 12 years in a colony.
"Taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, the court sentenced Tupalo to 12 years of imprisonment with serving his sentence in a strict regime penal colony. The preliminary investigation in the criminal case was carried out by the investigative unit of the FSS of Russia in the DNR", - stated on the website of the agency.
The court found that the defendant from February to December 2023 transferred to an unidentified person, representing the interests of the main department of intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, data on the location of law enforcement agencies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in Mariupol. For this purpose, Tupalo used an Internet messenger.
