Russian sappers demined more than 66,000 hectares of liberated territories

The Russian Armed Forces (AF) deminers have destroyed more than 1 million explosive objects and cleared over 66,000 hectares of territories liberated as part of the special operation. Yulia Zhdanova, acting head of the Russian delegation to the Vienna talks on military security and arms control, told Izvestia.
She stressed that demining is a very important goal for the demilitarization of Ukraine - and it fits into the set of tasks of the special operation to protect Donbas.
Zhdanova pointed out that Kiev constantly uses different types of weapons that are prohibited by international agreements. For example, Ukraine uses Lepestok anti-personnel mines, which it was obliged to destroy under the Ottawa Convention under the supervision of the international community, but failed to do so. Since the Soviet period, Kiev had about 6 million Lepestoks and about 1 million other mines to be eliminated.
The acting head of the Russian delegation added that Western countries such as the United States, Germany, France and Finland were actively supplying mines to Ukraine.
