Tushino district court of Moscow sentenced restorer Nikolai Belyakov to five years for fraud. This was reported by the courts of general jurisdiction of the capital in their Telegram-channel on December 16.

"The verdict of the Tushino district court of the city of Moscow Belyakov Nikolai Vladimirovich was found guilty of committing a crime under part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud on a particularly large scale") and appointed punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of five years with serving the sentence in a penal colony of general regime", - prepared in the message of the instance.

He was found guilty of fraud on a particularly large scale, committed during the restoration of one of the objects of cultural heritage of the islands of the Solovetsky archipelago.

Earlier, on December 13, Moscow police uncovered a scheme to embezzle more than 65 million rubles allocated for restoration work from budget funds. According to the agency, the general contractor concluded fictitious subcontracting agreements with an affiliated organization and other contractors who could not perform such work. The money was transferred to their accounts, cashed in and stolen.
