Russia has created much more advanced strike complexes than those currently available to the United States. Russian President Vladimir Putin said this on December 16, speaking at an expanded meeting of the Defense Ministry board.

The head of state noted that the newest Russian ballistic missile system "Oreshnik" has proven itself. It is very powerful, Putin added.

He pointed out that the USSR had once unilaterally disarmed to a certain extent - to liquidate medium-range land-based missiles. And the US did the same with its Pershings (two-stage medium-range ballistic missiles).

"But in our time, in the Russian time already, we have created much more advanced sea-based complexes than the US has. These are the Kalibras, these are the Zirkon - hypersonic complexes. We have created the latest medium-range airborne missiles, the Kh-101, with a range that is a multiple of what the likely enemy has, over 4,000 kilometers. And this system can be equipped with a special warhead, i.e. nuclear," the President specified.

Earlier during the board Putin also pointed out that the U.S. authorities scare their population with a mythical threat from Russia, which is not going to attack anyone. Trying to weaken the Russian Federation and inflict a strategic defeat on it. The President recalled that Washington once claimed the "Soviet threat" in the same way. He also noted that the serial production of the Oreshnik missile system, which was successfully used during the Special Military Operation (SMO), should be ensured in the near future.

Prior to that, on November 21, Putin announced the combat test of the Oreshnik ballistic missile, one of Russia's newest medium-range missile systems. The move was a response to the escalation of the Ukrainian conflict by Western countries.

Afterward, on November 22, the head of state said that Russia would continue testing the Oreshnik, and that the decision to mass-produce the missiles had already been made. He also said that Oreshnik has 10 separating blocks that attack the target and everything in the epicenter of the explosion turns into dust.
