Russian President Vladimir Putin has called Kiev's "Kursk adventure" a crime against the Russian people. The head of state said this on December 16 at an enlarged meeting of the board of the Russian Defense Ministry.

The head of state noted that both Russian and foreign experts call what happened in Kursk region an adventure, as there is no sense in what the Kiev regime is doing in the border regions.

"In terms of a crime against the people of Russia - these are obvious things, this is a crime. Especially the suffering of the civilian population," he said.

Putin noted that the Russian Armed Forces (AF) are obliged to throw the enemy out of Russian territory. The task of military justice bodies is to record all these crimes, especially against civilian civilians, and the duty of special services is to find and punish the criminals, the President emphasized.

Earlier, on December 16, captured Ukrainian serviceman Artur Plombirus said that the command of the Ukrainian army gave orders to shoot civilians and Russian soldiers in Kursk region. The captive shared that in the unit most of the servicemen were previously convicted of serious crimes such as murder, rape and looting.

Back in August, the Russian Foreign Ministry's ambassador-at-large Rodion Miroshnik told Izvestia that the Russian Foreign Ministry intends to make public the evidence base of the Kiev regime's crimes against civilians in the Russian region.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of a federal nature. The operation to destroy the militants continues.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
