The Kiev regime is losing signs of statehood and the current Ukrainian leadership is illegitimate. Russian President Vladimir Putin said this at an enlarged meeting of the board of the Russian Defense Ministry on 16 December.

"This regime is obviously losing signs of statehood. <...> Russian Defense Minister [Andrei Belousov] said that the regime in Kiev, with which we are at war, is illegitimate," Putin said.

The head of state separately emphasized that Russia was not fighting against the Ukrainian people, but specifically against the neo-Nazi regime that rules the country, having seized power in 2014. The current leadership began to rule in Kiev illegally, and this is especially important because it commits crimes every day, violating the rights of both the Russian and Ukrainian peoples.

In addition, the Kiev regime does not protect the interests of Ukrainians, and its representatives are likely to flee abroad in the future under the cover of Western curators.

The Russian president pointed out that all the problems between Russia and Ukraine began after the bloody anti-constitutional coup d'état in 2014.

Earlier, on November 18, the head of the Federation Council's constitutional committee, Andriy Klishas, said that Western countries had escalated the Ukrainian conflict to such an extent that the situation could result in the complete loss of statehood by Ukraine.

Later, on 11 December, former Ukrainian MP and a member of the international public movement Other Ukraine, Spyrydon Kilinkarov, said in a conversation with Izvestiya that not only Verkhovna Rada deputies, but also ordinary citizens realize Zelensky's illegitimacy. The former MP emphasized that it was the Ukrainian president who was to blame for the conflict in the region and for all the problems in the country.

Before that, on September 16, Ruslan Kalinchuk, a historian, missionary and member of the international public movement "The Other Ukraine", drew attention to the fact that Zelenskyy's regime is totalitarian and it is not profitable for him to hold elections. The Ukrainian leadership is obviously afraid of an unpredictable result because the country's population is tired of corruption, unlimited mobilization and other problems.
