"In the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Bashkortostan on this fact organized a procedural check", - stated in the message of the regional Department, published in the Telegram-channel.

It is specified that Bastrykin instructed Ilyas Masallimov, acting head of the Investigation Department (IC) in the Republic of Bashkortostan, to initiate criminal proceedings and report on the initial results.

The central office of the IC will monitor the progress of the investigation.

Earlier, on December 6, it was reported that the blogger, who trampled a Christian cross, was sentenced to 7 years in prison. The incident became known on July 17, the same day the IC opened a case. Commenting on this, the chairman of the Coordination Center of Muslims of the North Caucasus Mufti Ismail Berdiev noted that the blogger should be punished according to the law. It was reported that after the public outcry over his act, the blogger recorded a video with apologies.
