Fraudsters have swindled 146m rubles from an 83-year-old pensioner from Moscow. The swindlers said that the woman was facing jail time for allegedly attempting to transfer money to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported in law enforcement agencies on December 16.

The pensioner was contacted by phone by the attackers, they introduced themselves as employees of law enforcement agencies and said that she faces a criminal sentence for attempting to transfer money to the AFU.

"When the woman reported that she did not do such a thing, she was offered to cooperate with the investigation. For this purpose, it was proposed to transfer the savings to the specified account," TASS quoted the interlocutor as saying.

According to his data, in the yard of her house, the elderly woman handed over to the fraudster all her money, as well as the savings of her spouse. When the pensioner realized that she was cheated, she immediately went to the police. A criminal case has been initiated on this fact.

Earlier, on December 11, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk said that the staff of the Russian Interior Ministry and the Federal Security Service of Russia recorded an increase in the number of phone frauds, in which the con artists present themselves as law enforcement officers.
