"In accordance with the instruction of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, it is proposed to form a new branch of troops - "Unmanned Systems Troops". "In general, air defense means during the special operation showed high efficiency," the minister said.
Earlier during the meeting, Russian President Vladimir Putin said it was necessary to increase the production of drones. No less important, according to the head of state, is to train UAV operators, to train them under programs developed on the basis of combat experience.
Earlier, on July 30, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov said that about 4,000 units of drones are used daily in the NWO area. On January 11, the Russian president said that Russia needs to be ahead of the curve in the development of UAVs.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken amid the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
