The earthquake with magnitude 5.0 was recorded in Kamchatka

An earthquake was recorded in Kamchatka on Monday, December 16, at 09:42 local time. Magnitude of the tremors amounted to 5.0.

The epicenter was at a depth of 503 km in the water area of Avacha Bay 120 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The threat of a tsunami was not announced, writes IA KamchatkaMedia.

The day before, on December 15, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 was also recorded in Kamchatka. The origin of the earthquake was at a depth of 103 km. Information about damage and casualties is unknown, no tsunami threat was announced.

Earlier, on November 24, an earthquake with magnitude 3.3 occurred in the water area of Sochi. The depth reached 5 km, the epicenter is located in the sea at a distance of 7 km south-west of the city of Sochi.
