Belousov announced the recruitment of 427,000 contract servicemen in 2024

Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov said on December 16 that this year the Russian Armed Forces (AF) recruited over 427 thousand servicemen under contract.

He also noted that more than 1.2 thousand people are contracted on a daily basis.

"Systematic work on staffing the armed forces continues," Belousov noted at an enlarged meeting of the board of the Russian Defense Ministry.

According to the Minister, it is important not to lose the momentum of this process, in addition, to introduce new actions and techniques in the training of servicemen, as well as to synchronize the activities of training troops with the supply of the latest means of armed struggle.

Before that, it became known that more than 300 thousand military personnel were trained in reserve regiments, which prepare contractors for participation in a special military operation (SMO). This was reported on November 2 by the head of the main department of combat training of the Russian Armed Forces, Colonel-General Ivan Buvaltsev. According to him, the training was adjusted taking into account the experience of the special military operation. The developed techniques and methods of combat operations were implemented promptly.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the worsening situation in the region.
