Ex-manager of Lukhovitsky aircraft plant sentenced to nine years for embezzlement of components

Mikhail Baranov, former quality director of Lukhovitsky aircraft plant, has been sentenced to nine years in the case of stealing fighter aircraft components and exporting them to Ukraine. This was reported on December 16 in the press service of the FSS of Russia in Moscow and Moscow region.

It is noted that the Moscow Regional Court sentenced Baranov in the case of involvement in the organization of theft of components for MiG-29 fighter jets. He is also accused of illegal export of technical documentation in the interests of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the guilty party transferred to representatives of the Odessa aircraft plant technical documentation of limited distribution, namely photos of fragments of drawings of parts of combat aircraft.

Baranov pleaded guilty, he was sentenced to nine years' imprisonment in a strict regime colony.

Earlier, December 13, a resident of Kursk was convicted in a case of state treason and sabotage. According to the investigation, the man cooperated with a representative of the Main Directorate of intelligence of the Ministry of defense (GUR MO) of Ukraine, performed his tasks. It was noted that explosives and means of communication were found in the man's house, on which correspondence with the representative of the Ukrainian special services was recorded.
