Russian Armed Forces liberate Yelizavetovka in the DNR

The Russian military has liberated Elizavetovka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). This was reported by the Defense Ministry on Monday, December 16.

Units of the Southern Group of Forces took control of the settlement.

"Defeated the formations of two mechanized, airmobile, airborne assault brigades of the AFU and two brigades of thero-defense", - reported in the department.

In total, in this direction the militants lost up to 345 people, five vehicles, two MaxxPro armored fighting vehicles, 155 millimeter self-propelled artillery unit Paladin.

In addition, the Russian army hit the infrastructure of military airfields, as well as accumulations of manpower and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 133 areas.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the 203-millimeter self-propelled artillery unit (SPU) 2S7M Malka of the Center group of troops had successfully eliminated armored vehicles and strongholds of the Ukrainian army, preventing the rotation of militants in the Krasnoarmeysk direction.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made in connection with the aggravation of the situation in the region.
