The former SsangYong has revealed the first new crossover for Russia

In Russia, the first model of the Korean company KG Mobility (KGM), which was called SsangYong until spring 2023, will be the Korando crossover of the fourth generation. Car sales will start in the first quarter of 2025, according to the message of the distributor company REKS Motors, which was received by Izvestia on December 16.

KGM Korando will be available in three configurations, both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions are provided. The Russian distributor of the brand promised a five-year warranty on the model.

The crossover will be offered with a non-alternative 1.5-liter petrol turbo engine, which produces 163 hp (280 Nm) and is combined with a 6-band Aisin automatic.

The options list includes dual-zone climate control and a fully Russianized multimedia system with an 8-inch touchscreen display that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto interfaces, as well as various driver assistants, including adaptive cruise control.

SsangYong cars have been sold in Russia since the mid-1990s, with the brand officially leaving the market in 2018. The company's return to Russia was announced in early November. Vitaly Osipov, CEO of REX Motors, promised that the company will pay great attention to after-sales service and availability of spare parts. The distributor has already started to form a dealer network, car showrooms are planned to be opened in all major cities of Russia.

Earlier in the day it was reported that dealerships in Moscow, Novosibirsk, Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod and Kazan began to receive new Chery Tiggo 9 crossovers, the showrooms are preparing for the start of sales.
