Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has announced the start of negotiations with Russia and the United States over the possible imposition of sanctions against the Serbian Oil Industry (NIS) by the US. This was reported on December 16 by Pravda Balkan with reference to the video message of the country's leader, published after his meeting with representatives of the Serbian Security and Information Agency.

It is specified that during the meeting with the agency they discussed the information received from the White House about the introduction of restrictions for corporations.

"From tomorrow we will start negotiations with the Americans, Russians and everyone else," Vucic noted.

According to him, the talks will start on December 16.

Earlier, on December 14, Vucic said amid reports of US plans to impose sanctions against NIS that Serbia is not ready to "even discuss" potential sanctions against Russia.

Prior to that, the Serbian leader said that the information about the imminent introduction of sanctions by the States had been confirmed, but the country's leadership had not received the relevant official document. The President specified that if such a document is received, he will try to talk to the U.S. and Russia in order to resolve the problem.

Meanwhile, a high-ranking source in Brussels told reporters that the foreign ministers of the European Union (EU) may approve the 15th package of anti-Russian sanctions on Monday, December 16.
