In Moscow, phone scammers defrauded an actress of 4 million rubles

In Moscow, employees of the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia for Presnensky district detained a phone scammer after he illegally received money from the capital's actress. This was reported by the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry Irina Volk in her Telegram-channel on December 16.
"My colleagues from the criminal investigation of the OMVD of Russia for Presnensky district of Moscow detained one of the actor-tourers - a resident of Novosibirsk. He is suspected of assisting in the realization of a fraudulent scheme," - said Volk.
The Muscovite received a call from an unknown person who introduced himself as a law enforcement officer and notified that her bank accounts could allegedly be used to finance extremism and terrorism, so it was necessary to transfer the money to the bank for safekeeping. The woman then gave the fraudster a code word and cashed out 4 million rubles. However, after a while she realized that she had fallen for the scheme of fraudsters.
According to the latest data, the detainee transferred the amount to the accomplice, and as a reward received Br45 thousand. A criminal case has been initiated, the perpetrator is in custody.
Earlier, December 7, phone scammers, disguised as FSB officers, stole Br4 million from the People's Artist of Russia and USSR State Prize winner Raisa Ryazanova. The calls began on December 4, after which Ryazanova withdrew cash and gave it to a courier.
