Chairman of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia Alexander Bastrykin has instructed to submit a report on the criminal case of mass infection of residents of a boarding home in the village of Chitkan in Buryatia. This was stated in the information center of the agency on December 16.

The report notes that due to neglect of requirements for admission of citizens to the institution and untimely isolation of people with signs of infection, 48 people were diagnosed with scabies.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation specifies that for several months the management of the boarding school concealed data on the infection of the residents.

It is reported that the Department of the agency in the region initiated a criminal case.

Infection with scabies occurs through contact with a sick person and through household items, including towels and bedding. The source of the disease are scabies mites. For prevention, you should systematically change the clothes and bedding, regularly wash underwear and clothes in hot water.

Earlier, on December 5, the child's mother shared with Izvestia that he could have been infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in the maternity hospital. The mother added that the child never had any injuries or wounds, so he could not have been infected through blood. She also emphasized that there are no HIV-infected people in the family's environment who could have infected the child.

Before that, on December 4, in Roszdravnadzor for Kamchatka region will check the information about the infection of the child with immunodeficiency virus (HIV). In turn, the child's mother told Izvestia that HIV tests were conducted three times and all results were positive. The parents' results are negative.
