T-90M "Breakthrough" tanks of the "West" group of forces destroyed AFU equipment and manpower

The crews of the T-90M Breakthrough tanks of the Zapad group of forces successfully destroyed machine gun points, automatic grenade launchers, observation points, ammunition depots, a tank, as well as personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), the Russian Defense Ministry reported on December 16.

The tankers, using the terrain, made striking strikes on dugouts, observation posts and ammunition depots on the front line. In addition, the crew effectively suppressed Ukrainian fighters' firing points, which allowed the Russian Army attack aircraft to advance deep into the enemy's defenses.

The tankers received target coordinates from reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) calculations. Arriving at a prearranged firing position, the military quickly aimed the combat vehicle at the target and destroyed a tank, machine-gun points, an automatic grenade launcher, strongholds, ammunition depots and AFU personnel.

After successfully accomplishing the combat mission, the crew promptly moved from the firing position to the rear area.

The tankers had plenty of ammunition, provisions, equipment and water, which is not the case with the enemy. Timely delivery of all the necessary supplies in sufficient quantities is ensured by the group's logistics units.

Earlier, on December 10, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that tankers of the Vostok group of troops from Buryatia destroyed a fortified firing position of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at one of the directions in the special operation zone.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
